Facebook : Facts we never knew or never bothered to know

There are existing Facts you never knew about Facebook. Facebook is more than just comments, likes, shares, posts, tags, chats, friend request and lots of other things.These are still facts about Facebook that aren't hidden but we really didn't care to know.

Here are some Of the facts:

 1. Never Miss the Birthdays of your Friends:

 You don't really need to log in to your Facebook account to know whose Birthday it is, you could actually get reminders on your phone, as long as you are connected to the internet this is how to achieve this.
  • Login your Facebook account through their official website, and click on events at the left corner of your home page. You will be directed to events page, scroll down and and right click on Birthdays, select "copy link location" .

  • Open your google account and click on the doted rectangle at the right top, then select calendar.






  • Navigate your mouse to the "other Calendar," then click on add URL.
  • Enter the link of the "Birthday" that you copied from Facebook on the URL Bar and click "Add calendar". After this you don't have to login to your Facebook account before you know it's your friends birthday. Thank me later.

 2. Look for that particular post.

Facebook search has really improved a lot. Searching for posts are now very easy, all you need to do is type in the keyword of the post alongside with the name of your friend, you will be amazed at the result.
Also if you want information on location you want to travel to, just type in the location of the search, and you will get and idea of what your journey would look like.

3. Privatize your friends:

If you want to protect the information of friends on your list or you don't want people to send friend requests through you to your friends or you don't want some people to see your post ...well lets star with the friend list...just head to your profile page,
  • click on the Friends tab , navigate to the right and click edit Privacy. Then change the list settings to "Only me"
  • Select People you want to see your post:
Before you start complaining on how a particular person is stalking you, Hide him or he from the post. in the "who would see this?" menu text to the post button.
  • select custom and add the undesired friend to the don't share this with list.

4.Invisible mode:

 If you have friends and you aren't in the mood to chat with them, simply click on the gear icon at the right bottom of your window right below your friends online and Turn of chat for all, or turn of chat for some friends, or turn off chat for all except. No hard feelings some times you might not be in the mood to chat.By the way, you don't owe anyone any obligation, you could ignore the person even if you are visible or not unless you are a world wide receptionist.

5. Change your relationship status  without sounding the alarm.

It is obvious that most people take this relationship stuff very serious on Facebook, and they just can't wait to see a change on your status. Now this is how to change your status without notification (especially favorite/celebrated couples on FB that just broke up).

  • Click on your profile page, at the left tab under the "about" select Family and relationship. 
  • Scroll to relationship click on the edit button and change your privacy settings from public with the world icon  to "only me" with a Padlock icon. 
  • Change your status as often as you want. this will not appear on the news feeds.

6. Bookmark and read later feature. 

Every day on Facebook are a tonnes of articles, and there isn't enough time in the day to click on all of them. Tap or click the Share button and then Save Link. All of your bookmarked articles will appear on in the Saved tap in the left column (desktop) or in the More tab  Saved (mobile app).

7. Download new Facebook photos you're tagged in to a Dropbox folder.

This is cool for saving photos from a an occasion! First create an account at IFTTT.com and then head to this page, where you'll be prompted to connect your Facebook and Dropbox accounts. Once the accounts are verified, you can turn on the "recipe" and every photo you're tagged in will be saved!

8. iPhone special:

 If you have an iPhone, the Paper app (Free, iOS) will change your Facebook life. This experimental iPhone app is the best way to view your News Feed. Large photos from friends and pages are splashed across the top, while status updates appear at the bottom. Keep scrolling to view shared articles and trending stories from across the web. It's a feast for your eyes, and so much better than the Facebook app. Unfortunately, it's only available for iOS users right now. There are still more you don't know about Facebook, there is more to Facebook than just chat.
